Engineering Manager - Core Systems for Remote Team

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our remote team at Airalo, the world’s first eSIM store. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead our Core Systems team, which is responsible for building essential internal tools that support our B2C operations. What You'll Do

• Lead technology excellence in the company, focusing on cloud-native environments.
• Extend and improve engineering best practices within your team.
• Maintain a collaborative environment, driving projects to completion creatively.
• Motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership in your team members.
• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team.
• Ensure the team delivers high-quality products by following best practices such as testing and observability.
• Work closely with product managers to maintain a prioritized backlog and set short-term and long-term goals.
• Collaborate with the recruiting team to hire high-potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on technical experience in cloud-native environments.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a team and guiding them through their career development.
• Expertise in building and refactoring scalable customer-centric systems.
• Strong understanding of application security practices.
• Proficient in AWS services (S3, Lambda, SQS, Aurora, EKS).
• Experience with Docker and unit testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

Nice to Have

• Prior work experience in telecommunications and network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of eSIM and GSMA technologies.
• Experience in building internal tooling for cross-departmental engineering teams.
