About the Role
PAE is seeking an Engineering Computational Design Lead to join our team remotely. In this role, you will serve as a product owner for PAE’s engineering automation tool stack, owning the tool vision, roadmap, and backlog while delivering key features through scripting and add-ins. This position focuses on building and shipping reliable, production-ready, Revit-centered tools and computational workflows that enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality.
What You'll Do
- Own the tool vision and backlog, acting as a hands-on contributor while coordinating additional development capacity as needed.
- Lead agile delivery for the tool stack, including intake, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release planning; define acceptance criteria and the definition of done.
- Develop and maintain design automation solutions using Dynamo, Python, and C#, adhering to established coding standards and documentation practices.
- Build and support Revit API add-ins and configurator-style tools that facilitate consistent, accessible workflows.
- Implement repeatable workflows that connect analytical intent to production BIM models.
- Support early-phase analysis workflows by structuring inputs/outputs and connecting results to model-based execution.
- Assist with the integration of analysis engines into Revit-centered workflows and support the interpretation of results.
- Enable data visibility for non-Revit users by producing structured tool outputs and defining reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a closely related field.
- 8+ years of experience in BIM, automation, or computational design within the AEC industry.
- Advanced capability in Autodesk Revit and strong understanding of BIM data structures.
- Demonstrated experience using Dynamo and programming languages Python and C#.
- Experience shipping production tools using version control (Git) and basic testing/validation.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong service and reliability focus.
Nice to Have
- Industry certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
- Familiarity with computational design, optimization concepts, and parametric systems.
- Experience supporting MEP engineering project delivery in an AEC environment.

- Base salary range: $106,800 - $142,400 annually.
