Director of Finance - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Finance - Remote to join the Right to the City Alliance, a national organization dedicated to advancing housing justice through grassroots initiatives. In this role, you will lead the financial strategy and oversight for our organization, ensuring sustainable growth and effective financial management.

What You'll Do

• Lead financial planning and analysis for the organization, ensuring alignment with our mission.
• Manage budget development and oversight processes to support our initiatives.
• Supervise the finance team and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Oversee operations and financial policies across partner entities.
• Provide leadership and support to organizational staff, fostering a culture of care and balance.
• Conduct monthly financial analysis and reporting to guide decision-making.
• Guide investment strategies and financial planning systems to promote growth.
• Ensure adherence to accountability protocols and fiscal compliance.
• Participate in organizational leadership and collaboration efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in a non-profit financial environment is preferred.
• Strong GAAP accounting expertise and proficiency in financial management software.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in multi-stakeholder project management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to racial justice and community empowerment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with fundraising and grant management.
• Familiarity with community organizing and housing justice issues.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
