Cyber Security Engineer - Remote Opportunities Available
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Cyber Security Engineer to join our dynamic global team at Cambridge International Systems. This Cyber Security Engineer remote role offers the opportunity to tackle some of today’s most complex challenges in defense and security while working alongside top talent worldwide.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect, investigate, and escalate cybersecurity threats and incidents.
- Support integrated cyber defense operations aligned with risk management frameworks; maintain security tools for continuous monitoring.
- Establish methods to quantify and measure cyber risk, supporting risk-based decision-making.
- Conduct system security, vulnerability, and risk assessments to identify security gaps and compliance issues.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and standards, ensuring compliance with Assessment & Authorization (A&A) requirements.
- Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
- Respond to and investigate cybersecurity incidents, restoring protections and producing required incident reports.
- Develop and execute security test scripts to verify the effectiveness of technical controls.
Requirements
- High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity.
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and policy development.
- Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies.
- Must possess CompTIA CISSP or CASP+ certification and CompTIA CySA+ certification.
- Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HBSS (Host Based Security System).
- Ability to lead a team of cybersecurity professionals and provide mentorship.
- Experience with web-based applications supporting RMF and A&A.
