Customs Specialist - Remote Position at Conair

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Customs Specialist - Remote to join our team at Conair. As a Customs Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Trade regulations while supporting our mission to provide high-quality kitchen appliances and cookware worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Customs Manager in ensuring accurate tariff classification and customs entry compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customs brokers to maintain compliance and support Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
• Review material master requests and validate correct tariff classifications.
• Audit customs entries for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with customs brokers.
• Respond to customs broker inquiries in a timely manner.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Customs Compliance Manuals and SOPs.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven years of experience in product classification and customs compliance.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience supporting or working within Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with Section 232 Aluminum and Steel tariffs.
• Working knowledge of ACE (Automated Commercial Environment).

Nice to Have

• Experience with consumer goods commodities including kitchen appliances, electronics, and cosmetic bags.
