Curriculum Advisor - Secondary (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Curriculum Advisor - Secondary (Remote) to help shape the future of education in New Zealand. In this role, you will work with schools and kura to implement curriculum and assessment changes, ensuring that all students receive equitable and excellent outcomes. As a Curriculum Advisor, you will be at the forefront of educational change, making a real difference for all ākonga.
What You'll Do
- Support secondary schools and kura in implementing the knowledge-rich curriculum at phases 4 and 5.
- Deliver whole-school curriculum and assessment changes aligned with local needs and national priorities.
- Utilize the Curriculum Advisory Service model and quality support materials to enhance educational practices.
- Facilitate professional learning to develop pedagogical content knowledge among teachers and kaiako.
- Provide expert advice to leadership teams on curriculum implementation and assessment strategies.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of the science of learning and effective teaching practices.
- Proven expertise in whole-school curriculum planning and delivery.
- Experience in secondary teaching and curriculum design.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships and drive change.
- Familiarity with te ao Māori and understanding of Te Reo, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Pacific bilingual units.
- Evidence of improved outcomes for diverse communities.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coach teachers and leaders.
