Corporate Counsel - EMEA (Remote)
About the Role
Customer.io is seeking a talented Corporate Counsel - EMEA to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time Corporate Counsel role that offers the flexibility of remote work from anywhere in Europe. As a Corporate Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal needs across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance and providing legal guidance on various matters.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal advice and support to various departments within Customer.io, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and partners.
- Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to legal compliance.
- Manage legal risks and provide strategic advice to the executive team.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business operations in the EMEA region.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal issues.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents to support business initiatives.
- Train and educate employees on legal compliance and best practices.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 3-5 years of experience as a corporate counsel or in a similar legal role.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Experience in the tech industry or SaaS is preferred.

- Experience working in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with data protection laws, especially GDPR.
- Membership in a relevant bar association.
