About the Role

Customer.io is seeking a talented Corporate Counsel - EMEA to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time Corporate Counsel role that offers the flexibility of remote work from anywhere in Europe. As a Corporate Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal needs across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance and providing legal guidance on various matters.

What You'll Do

  • Provide legal advice and support to various departments within Customer.io, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to legal compliance.
  • Manage legal risks and provide strategic advice to the executive team.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business operations in the EMEA region.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal issues.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents to support business initiatives.
  • Train and educate employees on legal compliance and best practices.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a corporate counsel or in a similar legal role.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience in the tech industry or SaaS is preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote environment.
  • Familiarity with data protection laws, especially GDPR.
  • Membership in a relevant bar association.
