About the Role

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) remote to lead a major digital transformation for a trusted source of medical news and education. This role involves a complete redesign and redevelopment of core platforms, transitioning from PHP and WordPress to a modern tech stack that emphasizes stability, scalability, and resilience.

What You'll Do

  • Translate business vision and product requirements into a clear technical strategy as the CTO remote.
  • Own the end-to-end digital roadmap for the new platform and advise on architecture, tooling, and technology.
  • Lead and manage the development team through the greenfield rebuild of the platform.
  • Implement AI features and understand LLMs, prompt design, and vector search.
  • Collaborate with a close-knit remote team while occasionally meeting at the London hub.

Requirements

  • Senior engineering leadership experience in fast-paced environments, ideally as a CTO, VP Engineering, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience architecting modern web platforms using Node.js, AWS, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with PHP and WordPress to understand the current platform.
  • Experience with Python for AI/data/automation use cases is a plus.
  • Practical experience implementing AI features is advantageous.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the healthcare sector or related industries.
  • Knowledge of knowledge graphs and AI-driven solutions.
