Biologist (m/​f/​d) - PCR Department - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Biologist to join our PCR Department at SYNLAB. This remote opportunity allows you to contribute to vital medical diagnostics while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. In this role, you will be involved in DNA/RNA isolation, PCR setup, and analysis of viral and bacterial pathogens, making a significant impact in the health sector.

What You'll Do

• Perform manual and semi-automated DNA/RNA isolation using Chemagen MSMI.
• Set up and analyze PCR processes manually and using automated systems like Hamilton.
• Conduct PCR analytics for viral and bacterial pathogens, utilizing LC480II, LC-PRO, BioRad Cfx96, and Luminex MAGPIX.
• Work with fully automated PCR systems including COBAS 6800, COBAS 8800, GeneXpert, Standard M10, and Biofire.
• Engage in sequencing tasks (Sanger & NGS) and ensure quality control and validation of results.
• Document and report findings accurately, contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
• Consult with clients and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure optimal workflow.
• Adhere to laboratory guidelines and take ownership of your responsibilities.

Requirements

• A completed degree in Biology; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in using computer-based laboratory information systems and MS Office.
• Good to excellent command of German, both written and spoken.
• Reliability, responsibility, flexibility, and a strong willingness to learn are essential traits.
• Openness to new challenges and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in molecular biology.
• Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment.
• Strong communication skills in English.
