Associate, Finance - Remote Position at Galaxy

About the Role

We are hiring an Associate, Finance - Remote to join our dynamic team at Galaxy. As an Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the fast-paced world of digital assets and finance, contributing to our mission of transforming how value moves through the world.

What You'll Do

• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes, including cash reconciliation, trade reconciliation, and reporting of legal entity level results.
• Monitor and record activity across traditional and decentralized financial assets.
• Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various entity activities.
• Develop deep expertise in operations of Galaxy’s various trading business lines.
• Assist in intercompany eliminations and consolidation procedures.
• Collaborate with counterparts in other departments to investigate reconciling items.
• Develop a thorough understanding of finance operations to set up new business initiatives.
• Support the SEC reporting team in creating and maintaining Digital Asset-related notes and disclosures, working with external auditors on supporting items.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the fintech or financial services industries.
• BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with maintaining books and records of a bank, exchange, hedge fund, or other financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets in Excel.
• Flexibility to innovate and implement new procedures to improve processes and workflows.
• Intellectually curious self-starter, comfortable in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.
• Strong appetite for problem-solving in a high-growth business.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• CPA preferred.
• Master of Science in Accountancy or similar preferred but not required.
• Experience working at a public accounting firm is a plus.
• College degree with a competitive GPA and demonstrated math or analytical ability.
• Familiarity with Cryptocurrency.
• Basic experience with programming (e.g., SQL, Python) and/or scripting.
