Customs Brokerage Agent - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Customs Brokerage Agent - Remote to join our dynamic team at Expeditors. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and timely customs process flow, which is vital for our international logistics operations. As a member of our global community, you will contribute to the seamless integration of our supply chain management services.

What You'll Do

• Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow for shipments.
• Perform accurate and timely data entry into our operational systems.
• Track and trace customs files and generate reports as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing processes.
• Understand and interpret import and export customs Desk Level Operating Procedures to meet customer expectations.
• Transfer customs declaration information into the customs entry system for valid declarations.
• Assist in verifying customs declaration information and submitting it to customs authorities.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of customs brokerage processes and customs legislation, particularly regarding classification, valuation, and origin.
• Understanding of ocean, road, and air documentation processes.
• Effective interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
• Strong organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Fluency in English is required.
• 2-5 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with customs software systems.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations.
• Previous experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
