IT Risk & Governance Officer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for an IT Risk & Governance Officer to join our team at LBBW. As an IT Risk & Governance Officer, you will play a crucial role in coordinating regulatory, audit-related, and risk-oriented requirements in the IT context.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate regulatory, audit-related, and risk-oriented requirements across the organization in the IT context.
• Contribute strategically and conceptually to the alignment of IT security and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze and implement regulatory guidelines, preparing trends from a business versus security perspective.
• Create decision-ready documents for management, focusing on feasibility, governance capability, and international requirements.
• Actively support IT governance, ensuring transparency over regulatory obligations and guiding change initiatives with strategic foresight.
• Serve as a structured interface between IT, business units, second line, audit, and supervision, with significant impact up to board level.

Requirements

• Completed degree in fields such as Business Informatics, Computer Science, or Law with an IT focus, or comparable qualification with relevant further training in IT risk management.
• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience dealing with regulatory IT requirements (e.g., MaRisk, DORA, EBA/ECB guidelines) and proven involvement in audits or IT regulatory projects.
• Good knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST 2.0, Cobit, ISO 27001.
• Deep understanding of IT risk management, IT governance, and IT security fundamentals, along with experience in structured analysis and deriving implementation needs from regulatory guidelines.
• Experience in preparing management or supervisory documents, including presenting complex issues in an audience-appropriate manner.
• Proven ability to coordinate technical discussions with multiple stakeholders (e.g., IT, business units, second line, audit, foreign branches), ideally at group level; project experience in leading sub-projects in the IT or regulatory environment is advantageous.
• Strong solution-oriented and networked thinking, confident and professional presence in committee and interface work – even in an international context – and the ability to recognize and translate the needs of internal clients into practical solutions, considering regulatory and operational requirements.
• Fluent in both German and English, spoken and written.
