Associate, Finance - Remote Opportunity at Galaxy

About the Role

We are hiring an Associate, Finance - Remote to join our dynamic team at Galaxy. As a leader in digital assets and data center infrastructure, we are committed to transforming the financial landscape through blockchain innovation. This role is pivotal in supporting our finance operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

What You'll Do

• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes, including cash reconciliation and trade reconciliation.
• Monitor and record activities across traditional and decentralized financial assets.
• Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various entity activities.
• Develop deep expertise in the operations of Galaxy’s various trading business lines.
• Assist in intercompany eliminations and consolidation procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to investigate reconciling items.
• Support the SEC reporting team in creating and maintaining digital asset-related notes and disclosures.
• Work with external auditors on supporting items.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in the fintech or financial services industries.
• BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with maintaining books and records of a bank, exchange, hedge fund, or other financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets in Excel.
• Flexibility to innovate and implement new procedures to improve processes and workflow.
• Intellectually curious self-starter, comfortable in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.
• Strong appetite for problem-solving in a high-growth business.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• CPA preferred.
• Master of Science in Accountancy or similar preferred but not required.
• Experience working at a public accounting firm is a plus.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency.
• Basic experience with programming (e.g., SQL, Python) and/or scripting.
