Assistant Project Coordinator - Telecommunications Construction
About the Role
We're hiring an Assistant Project Coordinator to join our telecommunications construction team at Aspire Communications. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will assist in keeping projects on track from initial planning through final closeout. As an Assistant Project Coordinator remote, you'll collaborate closely with Project Managers and field crews to ensure the smooth flow of information and resources.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with project managers to create detailed project plans, defining objectives, tasks, and timelines.
- Assist in team coordination by assigning tasks and ensuring team members have the necessary resources.
- Serve as a central point of contact for project-related communications and updates, both internally and externally.
- Maintain project documentation, records, and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor project progress, identify issues or potential delays, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues that may impact the project's success.
- Assist with budget tracking and cost control for the project.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Schedule and organize project meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes.
- Generate regular status reports and updates for project stakeholders and management.
- Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest enhancements to project management methodologies.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience in project coordination, construction, or telecommunications (internship experience counts).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with field crews, vendors, and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with project management tools like Procore, Smartsheet, or similar is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret basic project documentation, including schedules, work orders, and site plans.
- A team-first mindset with a genuine willingness to learn.
Nice to Have
- Experience or coursework in telecommunications, utilities, or infrastructure construction.
- Exposure to permitting processes or utility coordination.
- Familiarity with OSP (Outside Plant) or network construction terminology.
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
