About the Role

We are excited to announce an opening for the Assistant Fleet Compliance Coordinator - Remote Opportunity. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our Fleet Services, which includes workshop management, MOT testing, driver compliance, and customer relations. As an Assistant Fleet Compliance Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining fleet compliance and operational efficiency across the council and Clean & Green operations.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with fleet compliance, quality audits, and driver checks to ensure all operations meet legal and industry standards.
  • Support transport operations, including vehicle use, defect reporting, and tachograph monitoring.
  • Manage MOT test centre administration, including cash handling, card payments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Oversee the management of third-party contractors and suppliers to ensure service quality.
  • Contribute to service planning, project groups, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet operations.
  • Monitor taxi compliance and manage bookings for new taxi driver assessments.
  • Handle financial performance reporting, procurement, stock control, and order management.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.

Requirements

  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Fleetwave.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex information related to fleet operations.
  • Experience in administration, customer service, or fleet operations is essential.
  • Knowledge of transport legislation, MOT testing, and compliance standards is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexible hours as required.

  • Experience with financial reporting and budget management.
  • Familiarity with health and safety policies and legislation.
  • Previous experience in a public sector environment.
