We are seeking a talented Applied AI Engineer - National Security (Remote) to join our mission-driven team at TRM Labs. As an Applied AI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in deploying AI systems that enhance national security efforts. This position is designed for those who are passionate about leveraging technology to protect civilization and make a real impact in the world.

What You'll Do

  • Deploy AI systems at the mission edge, acting as the primary technical interface with national security customers.
  • Build, tune, deploy, and optimize AI applications tailored to meet mission needs, ensuring performance at scale.
  • Utilize techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation and prompt optimization to enhance AI capabilities.
  • Drive pilots and long-term programs by collaborating directly with end users, capturing feedback, and measuring mission impact.
  • Adapt solutions to real-world constraints while ensuring secure and reliable integration in classified environments.

Requirements

  • Strong background in ML model evaluation/tuning, Python, API integration, SQL, and MCP servers.
  • Proven ability to deliver results quickly within highly regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is mandatory.
  • Bonus: Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), API design, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in deploying AI solutions in high-stakes environments.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and rapid deployment practices.
  • Understanding of blockchain technology and its applications in security.
