About the Role
The Alliance for Justice (AFJ) is seeking a 2026 Summer Associate - Justice (Remote) to join our dedicated team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for current law students to engage in meaningful work focused on federal courts, building the bench, or state court justice projects. As a Summer Associate, you will conduct legal research and analysis on judicial nominees, write reports, and monitor state and federal judicial nominations. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world while contributing to important advocacy and public interest law issues.
What You'll Do
- Conduct legal research and analysis on judicial nominees.
- Write reports and monitor state and federal judicial nominations.
- Engage in advocacy and public interest law issues.
- Participate in professional development activities and networking opportunities.
- Contribute to coalition meetings and take notes.
- Draft press releases and blog posts.
- Support meetings with legislative offices.
- Attend confirmation hearings and contribute to discussions.
Requirements
- Current law student with excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to analyze legal concepts and public policy.
- Experience breaking down complex topics for non-expert audiences.
- Interest in federal appellate law and the federal judiciary.
- Familiarity with state supreme court selection is a plus.
- Experience in advocacy or political work.
- Commitment to social justice and civil rights.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
