WIC Nutritionist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated WIC Nutritionist to join our team in a remote capacity. As a WIC Nutritionist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing public health outcomes by providing nutrition education and counseling to clients. This position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team focused on improving health for the community.

What You'll Do

• Determine WIC program eligibility of applicants based on income, anthropometrics, blood iron levels, and nutritional risk.
• Provide nutrition counseling and breastfeeding support to low and moderate-risk WIC clients.
• Prescribe supplemental food packages and assess the need for breastfeeding support and supplies.
• Assist the Site Supervisor in improving customer service and clinic flow.
• Conduct community outreach and refer clients to necessary services.
• Participate in monthly quality assurance activities to maintain program standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships in a diverse environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
