Water Accounts Field Representative - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Water Accounts Field Representative to join the City of Greensboro. This role involves hands-on, field-based work to ensure accurate billing and responsible water use across the community. As a Water Accounts Field Representative remote, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our water system.

What You'll Do

• Read approximately 107,000 water meters using a mobile reading and collections system.
• Ensure accurate consumption data and timely billing for our customers.
• Conduct investigations into high and low water consumption.
• Perform cut-ons and cut-offs for customers moving in or out of residences.
• Check for leaks, cross connections, and unauthorized devices.
• Communicate effectively with customers and city staff regarding account management.
• Adapt procedures to resolve issues or problems encountered in the field.
• Maintain organized schedules and multitask effectively.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or an equivalency of 3 years of education and 6+ years of related work experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 4+ years of related field, technical, and customer service experience.
• Experience with utility billing applications (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

• Experience with mobile reading and AMI technical systems.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
