About the Role

We are looking for a Vulnerability Management Security Engineer to work remotely in Portugal, who’s eager to embark on an exciting new opportunity! As a Vulnerability Management Security Engineer remote, you will play a pivotal role in managing and improving the vulnerability management lifecycle, from identification to closure.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and enhance the vulnerability management lifecycle, ensuring effective identification and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Operate scanning tools for servers, endpoints, cloud, and containerized environments.
  • Analyze and prioritize vulnerabilities, collaborating with asset owners for effective remediation.
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and reports for vulnerability status and risk exposure.
  • Support compliance initiatives such as ISO 27001, NIS2, and internal audits.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps and Infrastructure teams to automate scanning and patch validation.
  • Participate in threat and vulnerability assessments for new systems and integrations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, vulnerability management, or system hardening.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, OpenVAS).
  • Solid knowledge of Linux, Windows, and cloud security (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills in English.
  • Experience with ticketing or risk tracking systems for remediation.
  • Familiarity with project management practices or methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Preferred: certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and experience in multinational or enterprise environments.

  • Advanced scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CEH, GSEC).
