About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on VP, Systems Engineer to join our team at Galaxy, a leader in digital assets and data center infrastructure. This remote VP, Systems Engineer role is crucial for owning and evolving our mission-critical infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, deploy, operate, and maintain a hybrid infrastructure that supports high-reliability financial systems.
  • Perform hands-on work in live production data centers, including hardware installation and troubleshooting.
  • Implement automation and configuration management to manage systems at scale.
  • Establish end-to-end monitoring and observability for the systems you operate.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response efforts.
  • Ensure systems comply with security and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support deployments and system evolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a systems engineer or in a similar role.
  • Deep practical experience with Linux systems in production environments.
  • Experience operating both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in physical data centers, including installing and troubleshooting servers.
  • Strong automation skills with scripting languages like Bash or Python.
  • Experience in designing monitoring and observability systems.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP and DNS.
  • Proven production ownership and participation in on-call rotations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech, crypto, or high-reliability financial systems.
  • Exposure to blockchain infrastructure.
  • Experience with containerized workloads and orchestration platforms.
