About the Role

We are seeking a Trading Technology Engineer (Java/Quant) remote to join our dynamic team at BitMEX. What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain trading engine systems and features, focusing on risk management, pricing, and order management.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts and product team members to continuously optimize existing models and develop new algorithms to enhance user experience.
  • Maintain and optimize order management, margin, and risk management systems.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to gather requirements, plan, execute implementations, and roll out new features.
  • Utilize your analytical and problem-solving skills to break down complex problems and create simpler abstractions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of programming experience in developing quantitative and latency-sensitive applications using Java.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development principles, including TDD, BDD, Domain-driven design, and SOLID principles.
  • Experience in a Hedge Fund, Investment Bank, or Exchange developing financial trading applications is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to enhance product specifications.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on edge cases and testing.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in developing execution algorithms and risk management systems.
  • Knowledge of FX/Crypto spot and derivatives markets.
  • Familiarity with KDB/q language.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
