About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Consultant for Water Operations to join our team remotely. This role is essential in supporting the execution and preparation of operations in the water, sanitation, and solid waste sectors. You will work in a collaborative and inclusive environment, contributing to impactful projects that improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean.

What You'll Do

  • Provide specialized technical support in the execution of the current portfolio of water, sanitation, and solid waste projects.
  • Contribute to the technical follow-up of operations DR-L1158, DR-L1156, DR-L1165, and DR-L1172 under the supervision of the sector team.
  • Review and provide inputs for the technical validation of engineering products related to networks, sanitation, civil works, drainage, and water management.
  • Support the preparation of new operations, including DR-L1171, and future initiatives in coordination with other sector institutions.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and review of technical inputs for the Project Monitoring Report (PMR) and other result tracking instruments.
  • Assist in improving planning and monitoring tools, including schedules and digital control matrices.
  • Provide operational support by coordinating with the Ministry of Environment, channeling inquiries, and consolidating information.
  • Systematize lessons learned and best practices derived from the execution and preparation of the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in potable water, sanitation, solid waste, water resource management, or urban drainage.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, both oral and written; knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.
  • Citizenship in one of our 48 member countries and eligibility to work in the location without sponsorship.
  • No family members working at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
