Summer UI/​UX Researcher Internship - Remote

About the Role

CareDx is seeking a Summer UI/UX Researcher Intern to join our team remotely. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design of data-driven digital experiences that enhance healthcare for transplant patients. As a Summer UI/UX Researcher Intern, you will work closely with clinicians, scientists, and product stakeholders to create intuitive dashboards and user workflows that improve decision-making in healthcare settings.

What You'll Do

• Support UI/UX design for internal and external dashboard applications, focusing on layouts, navigation, filtering, and data visualization concepts.
• Translate medical reasoning and clinical workflows into wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Create and maintain design assets using tools such as Figma and Lucid, ensuring proper documentation for handoff.
• Contribute to usability and feedback collection efforts, including designing surveys with proper methodology.
• Assist with user research activities, such as stakeholder interviews and usability testing.
• Synthesize feedback and research findings into actionable insights and design recommendations.
• Collaborate with Engineering to support implementation details and iterative improvements.
• Ensure designs align with accessibility and clarity standards for healthcare products.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in UX Design, HCI, Health Informatics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience creating UI/UX deliverables, ideally shown through a portfolio.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Lucid.
• Interest in designing for data-dense products and healthcare workflows.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and basic UX research methods.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Prior internship or project experience in designing web application interfaces.
• Experience drafting and deploying surveys and summarizing findings.
• Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and designing for readability.
• Exposure to design handoff practices and collaboration with engineers.
