About the Role

We are looking for a Skill Trainer - Asset Presentation (Bus & Premises Cleaning) to join our team at Go-Ahead London. This role is essential for delivering high-quality training to our cleaning operatives, ensuring they maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. As a Skill Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs that support our commitment to excellence in bus and premises cleaning operations.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and deliver induction, refresher, and upskilling training for bus and premises cleaning operatives.
  • Provide hands-on coaching covering cleaning techniques, equipment, machinery, chemicals, and PPE.
  • Ensure all training complies with Go-Ahead London policies, COSHH, Health & Safety legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct on-site assessments of cleaning performance, identifying capability gaps and supporting development plans.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable training records, including certification and compliance tracking.
  • Support operational managers with technical advice on cleaning processes, equipment use, and safe systems of work.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending new methods, technologies, or ways of working.
  • Act as an ambassador for safety, professionalism, and high standards across all locations.

Requirements

  • Experience in professional cleaning operations, ideally within transport, industrial, or facilities environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, machinery, chemicals, and safe working practices.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to engage colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Confidence delivering both classroom-based and on-the-job training.
  • Working knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety legislation, and environmental standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Training Qualification (ESSENTIAL).
  • Train-the-Trainer qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Recognized cleaning qualification (e.g., BICS, BCCA or equivalent).
