Senior Web Developer - Remote Position at Brave

About the Role

Brave is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission of protecting online privacy. As a Senior Web Developer, you will work on various web properties, primarily focusing on brave.com. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams, including Product, Design, Marketing, and Growth, ensuring a cohesive approach to web development.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain high-quality landing pages and customer-facing web assets.
• Collaborate with Product, Growth, and Marketing teams to gather requirements for new initiatives.
• Translate designs into fully responsive and performant pages or applications.
• Rapidly develop prototypes and experiments under tight deadlines.
• Maintain and improve existing websites and applications to meet high engineering standards.
• Ensure high performance and availability of web applications.
• Implement security best practices and maintain a high security standard.
• Set up and manage redirects as needed.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of professional experience in web development.
• Expertise in semantic/idiomatic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of various rendering strategies and CSS methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with SEO practices and analytics tools like Matomo.
• Experience with responsive web design across multiple devices.
• Knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte.
• Understanding of web security considerations.

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with CDNs and AWS services.
• Familiarity with GitHub actions and A/B testing.
• Experience in developing localized websites/applications.
• Proficiency in using Figma for design collaboration.
