Senior System Administrator - On-Site Role in Hamburg

About the Role

As a Senior System Administrator for the applike Group, you will be instrumental in ensuring our office infrastructure and tech setup runs smoothly. This Senior System Administrator remote position is perfect for a highly skilled and motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic IT environment. You will support a diverse employee base, manage systems across Mac OS and Windows, and play a crucial role in our IT journey towards zero touch and ISO certification.

What You'll Do

  • Lead projects from inception to completion while coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ensure the functionality of workplace technology including network, Wi-Fi, internet access, meeting rooms, and tech equipment in common spaces.
  • Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software issues.
  • Create and maintain tips and tricks solutions in our Confluence documentation.
  • Manage the IT warehouse effectively, ensuring proper setup and removal of technical equipment.
  • Oversee over 400 workstations, primarily onsite in Hamburg but also remotely.
  • Ensure the security of our computers and network infrastructure.
  • Participate in daily support as needed, proactively assisting colleagues and other teams.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and German.
  • More than 3 years of experience in System Administrator roles or equivalent.
  • Deep expertise in OS administration (Jamf), network security setup, and infrastructure fallbacks.
  • Expert knowledge in working with Windows, Mac, Google Workspace, and familiarity with JIRA.
  • Strong track record of driving projects in the System Administrator space with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Motivated, solution-oriented, and reliable with a hands-on mentality.
  • Experience in onboarding and mentoring junior colleagues is a plus.
