Senior Substation Engineer - Oil & New Energies (Direct Hire)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to join our team at Global Edge Group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the Oil & New Energies sector, specifically focusing on high-voltage substations. As a Senior Substation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of substations across various renewable energy projects. This position is ideal for professionals with over 10 years of experience in the field.

What You'll Do

• Lead the execution of electrical safety programs aligned with OSHA 1910 and NFPA 70E standards.
• Oversee the development of reliability strategies for high-voltage substations and collection systems.
• Champion a strong Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) culture within the team and among external partners.
• Act as the electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) during major outages, applying advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Manage the execution of arc flash studies and long-term management planning.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with high-voltage substations in transmission, distribution, or power generation environments.
• Preferred engineering degree or a technical diploma with relevant experience.
• Proven technical leadership skills with a focus on electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Deep expertise in switchgear, MCCs, protection relays, transformers, and substation infrastructure.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards.

Nice to Have

• Experience in renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV and wind power.
• Familiarity with electrical integrity programs and safety management.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a technical team.
