Senior Software Engineer - SAP Focus (Remote)

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on SAP to join our innovative team at BlackLine. This remote position allows you to leverage your extensive experience in SAP ABAP programming while contributing to the development of cutting-edge financial software solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer SAP, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our applications and data platform, particularly focusing on SAP ERP components.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical expertise in requirements analysis, design, effort estimation, development, testing, and delivery of highly scalable software.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to transform needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Engage in technical design and architecture discussions, driving technical decisions and making appropriate trade-offs.
• Design, develop, unit test, optimize, and maintain secure distributed backend services while adhering to coding and quality standards.
• Mentor and coach colleagues, leading by example and guiding them through complex design issues.
• Research, test, and evaluate new tools and technologies, recommending implementation strategies for product development.
• Maintain high standards of software quality and technical excellence by establishing good practices and writing clean, testable code.
• Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support activities, including occasional off-hours support.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP ABAP programming.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficient in ABAP OO programming, preferably using Eclipse/ADT.
• Experience with S/4HANA and ECC6.0 environments.
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and service-model driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with ABAP Unit Testing and code refactoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
