About the Role

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our team at Altamira Technologies. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to build and maintain a scalable automated testing framework for a UK-based service that supports local authorities in managing personal education plans for vulnerable children. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive automated regression testing suite from scratch, utilizing your expertise in Core JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Implement and configure Playwright for multi-browser and parallel execution, ensuring robust test coverage across various environments.
  • Design and execute end-to-end tests that reflect real user journeys, focusing on critical business flows.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
  • Utilize Playwright debugging and observability tools to enhance test reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of testing processes into the development lifecycle.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving testing practices and frameworks.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to a culture of quality within the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Core JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous patterns (async/await, Promises, error propagation).
  • Proven experience with Playwright, including semantic locators and fixtures.
  • Experience designing and maintaining a scalable Page Object Model (POM) architecture.
  • Ability to write reliable end-to-end tests that cover critical business flows.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as HTML and Allure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation engineering.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with integrated API testing using Playwright’s request context.
  • Familiarity with advanced CI/CD practices and performance checks.
  • Experience writing test suites in TypeScript.
