About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to join our team at act digital. This remote opportunity allows you to work on critical security challenges that directly impact how sensitive data is accessed and protected. As a Senior Platform Security Engineer, you will design, build, and implement security controls that ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our data systems.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement authentication and authorization for a large, graph-based database.
  • Build and evolve secure OAuth-based authentication and authorization flows, including token handling and permission models.
  • Make concrete improvements to our production security posture.
  • Audit and enhance data flows and privacy controls to ensure sensitive data is handled appropriately.
  • Act as a security and privacy gatekeeper, requiring changes during reviews when necessary.
  • Improve and maintain supply-chain security, including SAST, SCA, and CI/CD hardening.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, our primary programming language.
  • Deep understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth and JWTs.
  • Experience designing and securing complex data systems.
  • Ability to assess risks and make informed trade-offs.
  • A proven track record of implementing real security improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with graph databases, ideally Neo4j.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and supply-chain security practices.
  • Knowledge of Go or Rust programming languages.
  • Some familiarity with frontend technologies, particularly React.
