Senior PCB Designer - Remote Opportunity at SpaceX

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior PCB Designer to join our team at SpaceX. This remote position allows you to contribute to groundbreaking technologies aimed at enabling human life on Mars. As a Senior PCB Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing printed circuit boards for our Starshield project, which leverages SpaceX’s Starlink technology to support national security efforts.

What You'll Do

• Design and layout printed circuit boards (PCBs) for various applications, including RF and power conversion.
• Collaborate with Hardware Development Engineers to ensure optimal design solutions during the development process.
• Perform component package selection, layer stackup determination, and signal routing feasibility studies.
• Create and maintain ECAD libraries and documentation for PCB fabrication.
• Work closely with internal teams and PCB vendors to refine design rules and manufacturing guidelines.
• Utilize PCB design tools and train team members on best practices.
• Monitor industry-wide parts and standards to ensure compliance and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (7+ years in PCB layout).
• 5+ years of professional experience in PCB layout.
• Experience with Mentor Xpedition and/or Altium Designer.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Ability to visualize component placement and interconnectivity.
• Active Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Nice to Have

• 6+ years of experience with modern passive and active electronics components.
• Experience with mixed analog and digital designs, high-speed buses, and power supplies.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD, commercial, and IPC standards.
