Director of Product Design - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're hiring a Director of Product Design to join our Product Design team at Oscar. This Director of Product Design remote position allows you to lead a talented team of designers who are responsible for creating mission-critical platforms that enhance our internal tools and enterprise ecosystem.

What You'll Do

• Lead a high-performing team of designers, ensuring they deliver high-quality, user-centric experiences for our internal users.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leads to define strategies, roadmaps, and measurable goals for product design initiatives.
• Oversee the design of tools that empower employees to deliver exceptional value to our business and end-users.
• Implement design-driven initiatives and facilitate discovery processes to align with business goals.
• Maintain rigorous quality standards for design execution through direct feedback and design reviews.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clarity in decision-making and influencing direction with informed insights.
• Focus on scalability by implementing repeatable design processes and contributing to a unified design language across multiple domains.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Product Design and Research function by optimizing workflows and ensuring access to best-in-class tools.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of building and shipping applications or software.
• 5+ years in a design leadership role, directly contributing to and leading people, processes, and product strategies.
• Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated through past work experience and case studies.
• Ability to shape design direction and strategic thinking, identifying goals and opportunities.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to tell compelling stories to cross-functional audiences.
• Well-developed design and research skills, with a focus on mentoring designers.
• Bonus: Experience leading with empathy, transparency, and inclusivity.
