About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is a fixed-term contract lasting between 18 to 24 months. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in navigating legal complexities and ensuring compliance with regulations across various jurisdictions. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our business objectives while mitigating legal risks.

What You'll Do

  • Provide expert legal advice on compliance with GDPR, anti-bribery laws, and international sanctions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements to protect the company's interests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to legal standards and best practices.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support business initiatives and decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and training for employees.
  • Manage relationships with external legal advisors and stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and advise the company on potential impacts.
  • Support the company’s customer success and sales development efforts through legal guidance.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal counsel, preferably in a B2B SaaS or tech environment.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, compliance, and corporate law.
  • Proven experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech or software engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of KYC and money laundering regulations.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and data privacy issues.
