Senior Internal Auditor - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join Stirling Council in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in delivering excellent internal audit services to support the Council's ambitions in providing top-notch services to its community. You will work closely with the Chief Officer - Governance, Audit Service Manager, and the Internal Audit Team Leader to ensure compliance and drive improvements across various departments.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to the delivery of an excellent internal audit service that supports Stirling's community objectives.
• Work collaboratively with the Internal Audit, Risk, and Corporate Fraud Team to foster a positive, risk-aware culture.
• Engage with colleagues across the organization to build relationships that enhance service delivery.
• Utilize your analytical skills to assess risks and recommend improvements in processes.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure transparency and understanding of audit findings.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in auditing or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in internal auditing, with a focus on public sector services.
• Strong analytical skills and political awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to delivering customer-focused public services.

Nice to Have

• Experience in risk management frameworks.
