Senior Consultant, People Relations - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Consultant, People Relations to join our team remotely. This role is crucial in fostering a respectful, compliant, and high-performing workplace. As a Senior Consultant, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, leading complex employee relations matters, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations, workplace compliance, and employment law.
- Lead fair, neutral, and thorough internal investigations; document findings and present clear, fact-based recommendations.
- Partner with leaders and HR colleagues to resolve employee concerns, performance issues, and policy questions.
- Provide coaching and guidance on performance management and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with Legal on escalated matters as needed.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs (including state-specific requirements such as CA, IL, WA).
- Identify organizational risks and recommend proactive solutions aligned with business and people strategies.
- Support HR initiatives and cross-functional projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in employee relations or HR consulting.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience in conducting investigations and resolving conflicts.
Nice to Have
- Experience in developing training programs.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements in multiple states.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
