VP, Senior Backend Developer - GalaxyOne

About the Role

We are seeking a VP, Senior Backend Developer to join our innovative team at GalaxyOne. This remote position offers you the opportunity to design, develop, and optimize robust backend systems that power our web and mobile applications. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our digital asset platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems, APIs, and databases for our web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.
• Architect scalable, secure, and efficient server-side solutions that meet fintech industry standards.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, including code reviews and automated testing frameworks.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in backend development, blockchain, and fintech to recommend innovative improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Hands-on development experience in Node, Express, TypeScript, and related frameworks like Nest.js.
• Strong experience with SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Microservices and Event-based architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience using Caching and Messaging Queues like Kafka.
• Experience using Postman and Git/Bitbucket.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience working in a startup, taking a product from zero to one.
• Experience in financial markets or brokerages.
