About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join our dynamic team at SCOR. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to evaluate and analyze risks associated with casualty and EIL insurance policies. As a Senior Casualty Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in assessing applications, determining coverage terms, and making informed decisions to ensure profitability and compliance with company guidelines.

What You'll Do

  • Generate new offers of insurance and promote the Group through proactive marketing aligned with our defined strategy and risk appetite.
  • Receive, select, and evaluate offers of Casualty/EIL from various sources by independently analyzing all underwriting information.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with brokers to secure favorable outcomes.
  • Contribute to the technical knowledge of sectors relevant to your work, enhancing our expertise in the market.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with clients and brokers, particularly in the French market.
  • Execute growth strategies, including key account management and cross-sell initiatives.
  • Research, develop, and report on new areas of profitable growth, including new business development.
  • Produce various reports for internal and external reporting purposes as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in the insurance/reinsurance market, ideally with professional line experience in Direct/Facultative.
  • Proven underwriting skills for complex Casualty or EIL programs for large corporates.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance marketplace, including competitor landscape and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to present compelling arguments to brokers.
  • Master’s degree in Insurance or Law is required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SCOR's back-office systems and processes such as Forewriter, Omega II, UP, and Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with cross-selling strategies in insurance.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
