Embedded Hardware Engineering Intern - Remote Opportunity

About the Role
We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineering Intern to join our innovative team at Bugatti Rimac. This Embedded Hardware Engineering Intern remote position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive technology and hypercars, contributing to projects that push the boundaries of performance and engineering.
What You'll Do
- Stay current with relevant technologies and development processes.
- Plan and deliver assigned tasks on time while following safety and internal procedures.
- Support hardware design, including component selection, schematics, and PCB development.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards (EMC, ESD, safety, environmental, etc.).
- Collaborate with System, Embedded Software, Mechanical, Production, and Testing teams.
- Support prototype builds, serial production, and PCB integration into housing.
- Perform and support in-house, external, and field testing to validate designs.
- Assist with system requirements definition, feasibility studies, BOM cost optimization, and end-of-line testing.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements
- Understanding of embedded electronics and hardware design principles.
- Familiarity with schematic and PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle, KiCad, or similar).
- Good knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Understanding of common communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet – considered an advantage).
- Structured and analytical problem-solving mindset.
- Innovation-driven approach and willingness to learn automotive standards.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Familiarity with soldering and prototype rework.
- Basic understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
Nice to Have
- Experience with automotive projects.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages.
- Prior internship experience in a related field.
