Senior Backend Software Engineer - AI Platform

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for AI Platform to join our innovative team. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely while requiring occasional travel to Berlin, Germany. As a key player in developing our next-generation AI platform, you'll be instrumental in creating real-time voice AI agents that enhance user experiences.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend platform services with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Help transition an existing monolithic system into high-performance, well-managed services with improved test coverage.
• Advance the platform towards enterprise-grade standards, including observability, compliance, and multi-region deployments.
• Build and maintain real-time AI orchestration pipelines, coordinating large language models (LLMs), automatic speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech, and telephony systems.
• Contribute to enhancing developer experience and platform velocity through golden helm charts, improved test harnesses, and load testing frameworks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python in production environments.
• Proficiency in Go, with the ability to navigate the backend stack confidently.
• Experience in building and operating high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, and distributed systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-driven or real-time systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and containerized deployments.
• Exposure to observability tooling, load testing, and platform reliability practices.
