Senior Backend Engineer - Python/​Node.js for Crypto Platform

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Python/Node.js remote) to join our dynamic team at Crypto.com. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge automation solutions that enhance our client onboarding, operational efficiency, and financial processes. You will actively contribute to the design of various components behind scalable applications, from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using Python and Node.js for machine learning models, automation scripts, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Data Science, Operations) to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Design and implement robust backend systems to handle large-scale automation projects, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance for mission-critical business processes.
• Build and maintain high-performance, secure APIs to manage payment handling and automated reconciliation systems.
• Develop backend logic and integration layers for workflow verification and automated support triggers.
• Manage complex data structures and perform deep database optimization to handle high-frequency transaction logging and querying.
• Architect seamless connections between internal microservices and external third-party platforms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Expert-level hands-on skills in Python and Node.js are mandatory.
• Deep experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask for building production-ready services.
• Solid command of relational database concepts, expert SQL querying skills, and experience with performance tuning.
• Significant experience contributing to or leading large-scale automation projects (e.g., automated financial reporting, bulk data processing, or enterprise-wide workflow orchestration).
• Practical experience in backend requirements for payment reconciliation and KYC compliance.
• Proficient in English and experienced in collaboration with global teams.

Nice to Have

• Kubernetes/Docker experience.
