Senior Accountant - Remote Position for Norwegian Firms

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant remote to support Norwegian accounting firms with their day-to-day financial operations. This role involves managing core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining strong communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Manage the accounting functions for Norwegian companies, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Perform bookkeeping, remittance, payroll processing, and invoicing using various accounting software.
• Import opening balances, bank statements, and sales reports accurately.
• Conduct precise data entry for payables, receivables, and general journal vouchers.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts during period-end closings.
• Communicate effectively with Norwegian accountants and clients regarding accounting matters.
• Learn and apply basic Norwegian language skills to enhance communication and understanding of accounting documentation.
• Stay updated on Norwegian accounting policies and assist with other accounting-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related accounting field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Experience working with international clients is required.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• High level of computer literacy, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Familiarity with Norwegian accounting systems such as Tripletex, PowerOffice Go, Visma, or 24SevenOffice.

Nice to Have

• CPA license is an advantage.
