Section Engineer - Water Infrastructure Projects

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Section Engineer to join our team at Costain Group, focusing on water infrastructure projects. This Section Engineer role is primarily remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to essential projects across the Thames Valley and Thames South regions. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the execution of specific project sections, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed to the highest standards.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the delivery of project elements, ensuring compliance with Costain's contractual obligations and construction program.
• Ensure that all works are covered by approved RAMS and possess the relevant permits.
• Manage the temporary works process, ensuring proper checks and permits are in place.
• Brief workforce and subcontractors effectively to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Collaborate with clients to support their needs and ensure efficient on-site delivery.
• Contribute to the weekly/monthly program for your section and accurately record site activities.
• Ensure daily site diaries are maintained by your team for your section of works.
• Conduct safety and quality inspections for all works under your control.

Requirements

• Degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant engineering subject.
• Relevant CSCS Card.
• Vocational training with successful experience at Graduate Engineer level.
• Full UK driving license.
• Understanding of engineering principles and technical knowledge of construction techniques.
• Some civil or MEICA construction experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience in managing large-scale civil projects.
