About the Role

We are seeking a Remote UI Software Engineer to join Brave's innovative team. As a Remote UI Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing user experiences across our web browser and AI integrations. Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online, and we need talented engineers like you to help us achieve this goal.

What You'll Do

  • Implement browser-integrated Web UI features, such as AI conversations and new tab pages, using Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with React and other frameworks like Svelte and Web Components.
  • Collaborate with our product development team to bring designs and specifications to life on Brave's desktop and mobile browsers.
  • Integrate with custom browser APIs using Chromium's communications frameworks.
  • Customize the native UI provided by Chromium to add new product features and modify existing ones.
  • Deliver well-tested code with high confidence, ensuring a smooth user experience.
  • Work alongside and learn from experienced Chromium engineers, contributing to peer reviews and improving our engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in building complex web applications with state management.
  • Deep knowledge of a JavaScript UI framework such as React, Svelte, Vue, or native Web Components.
  • Proven expertise with CSS for building user interfaces.
  • Commitment to UI accessibility and localization techniques.
  • Understanding of performance impact and measurement techniques.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with C++ for browser-level feature work.
  • Familiarity with browser internals and web standards.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
