Remote Team Lead - HealthTech Design Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Team Lead to join our dynamic team at 32Co, where our orthodontic designers and the treatment plans they create are at the heart of our ortho/aligner product. This role is pivotal in ensuring our design team is empowered, engaged, and set up to thrive. As a Remote Team Lead, you will work closely with Rohan (Orthodontic Design Lead), Nick (VP Operations), and Hattie (Head of People) to own the operational processes that keep the team running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Partner with leadership to ensure the design team has the capacity, structure, and support needed to meet business goals.
• Hold regular 1:1s with designers to understand their challenges, wins, development goals, and engagement levels.
• Design, implement, and improve processes across the design team, including workflows, feedback loops, recognition, performance tracking, and team operations.
• Lead performance and development processes, including growth frameworks and feedback rituals that drive engagement and accountability.
• Track performance metrics and team capacity to identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead engagement initiatives that reinforce team culture and celebrate design wins, ensuring remote and distributed team members feel connected.
• Define and communicate clear progression pathways for designers.
• Run ad hoc operational projects that enhance team effectiveness.
• Support exceptional onboarding experiences for new designers.
• Be the connective tissue between the design team and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Proven experience in People Operations or Team Management, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
• Strong operational, process design, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across remote teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Experience adopting or implementing new tools or systems, especially AI or automation technologies.
• Prior experience supporting remote-first or globally distributed teams.
• Prior experience in a dental or health-tech environment.
