About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Senior Backend Engineer to join our Submission Processing Team at Kalepa. As a key member of our team, you will help transform the commercial insurance industry through our AI Underwriting Platform. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while making a significant impact on how insurers manage submission data and risk insights.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that support our AI-driven underwriting platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that enhance our submission processing capabilities.
• Implement robust APIs and microservices to facilitate seamless data integration and processing.
• Optimize existing backend processes to improve performance and reliability, ensuring a smooth user experience.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain high code quality.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our backend architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer, with a strong focus on building scalable applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with experience in building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
