About the Role

CommonLit is seeking a dedicated Remote Sales Development Representative to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting our Sales Team and enhancing the educational experience for students across the United States. As a Remote Sales Development Representative, you will play a key role in early pipeline development, ensuring that teachers and schools receive the resources they need promptly.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Sales Team in achieving yearly bookings goals and expanding CommonLit’s impact in US schools.
  • Engage in early pipeline development and management, including sourcing leads for the Sales Team.
  • Conduct direct outreach to potential leads via emails and phone calls.
  • Qualify leads by determining their viability and conducting thorough research into school districts and state contexts.
  • Analyze early pipeline trends and propose actionable insights to Sales Leadership.
  • Manage CRM activities in Salesforce, ensuring accurate logging of all interactions and lead statuses.
  • Propose improvements to processes for increased efficiency in pipeline maintenance and development.
  • Conduct market research on state contexts and local policies to support sales strategies.
  • Contribute to additional team projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1 year of experience as a K-12 classroom teacher or as a Sales Development Representative.
  • Goal-oriented and team-first mindset.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Preferred: Experience with a CRM (Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.) and in a customer-facing role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in educational settings or with educational technology.
  • Familiarity with sales strategies and lead generation techniques.
  • Understanding of the K-12 education landscape.
