Remote IT Officer - Support for Agrifood System Transformation

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Remote IT Officer to join our team at GOAL Uganda. This role is pivotal in supporting our Agrifood System Transformation for Youth Employment (ASTYE) program, which aims to create dignified work opportunities for financially disadvantaged young women and vulnerable groups in Uganda. As a Remote IT Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our IT systems, ensuring that our team can effectively contribute to this transformative initiative.

What You'll Do

• Support and maintain networks, databases, and systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Update system hardware and software as needed to keep our technology current.
• Troubleshoot system errors and provide solutions to technical issues.
• Assist team members with data security and optimization efforts.
• Act as the primary contact for mobile and PC issues, addressing hardware and software concerns.
• Coordinate with field staff to gather feedback on mobile/PC usability and features.
• Keep track of problems and repairs, logging all tasks for accountability.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
• Strong understanding of network systems, databases, and IT security.
• Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and field staff.
• Experience with mobile and PC support is essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the agrifood sector or related industries.
• Knowledge of data security best practices.
