Remote Associate Underwriter - Join a Fast-Growing Insurance Team

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Associate Underwriter to join our dynamic team at CK Specialty Insurance Associates. As a key player in our underwriting department, you will support the team by reviewing, processing, and analyzing insurance applications. This Remote Associate Underwriter position is perfect for those who are detail-oriented and eager to learn about the underwriting process.

What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate insurance applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in assessing risk exposures and determining eligibility in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Prepare and process quotes, binders, endorsements, and renewal documentation for underwriter approval.
• Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to obtain required information and clarify submissions.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into underwriting systems and CRM platforms.
• Support compliance efforts by assisting with surplus lines tax filings, state reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor pending submissions, track deadlines, and follow up on outstanding items to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and support client needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in desk underwriting in excess and surplus insurance.
• Proficient in computer applications and documentation management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate-level knowledge of insurance products/coverage, underwriting, pricing, and risk selection.

• Experience with Lloyd's of London, Penn America, MUSIC, Century Surety, and Core Specialty.
