Product Designer - FinTech Startup

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Product Designer to join our dynamic team at Hiive, a leading FinTech startup. As a Product Designer remote, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our innovative platform, connecting buyers and sellers of stock in venture-backed pre-IPO companies. With our rapid growth and recognition as one of Canada’s top startups, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design of product features and initiatives, from conceptualization to high-fidelity execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to define product requirements and design solutions that meet both user needs and business goals.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to iterate and improve design solutions.
• Design for both web and mobile, focusing on creating intuitive and delightful user experiences across devices.
• Own and evolve the visual and interaction design of the product, ensuring high-quality, pixel-perfect designs.
• Lead design reviews and present design concepts to stakeholders across the company.
• Support others around you, championing the company values with a positive outlook.
• Respond effectively and respectfully to various working conditions with a growth mindset.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional design experience.
• Mastery in Figma and other applicable design software.
• Relevant experience with different design methods and techniques.
• An online or PDF portfolio (please include any passwords).

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working in a Fintech startup or designing for marketplaces.
• Previous experience facilitating research and user testing.
• Ability to adapt well in quickly changing environments.
